71-year-old woman killed in Simcoe

Ontario Provincial Police say they are investigating a homicide in Simcoe after a 71-year-old woman was found dead in a home.

The body of Barbara Morgan was discovered on October 5, police said in a news release.

Police arrived at the home on Head Street South shortly after 10:30 a.m. There's an increased police presence in the area. Preliminary information suggests this is an isolated incident, with no indication of a broader threat.

Norfolk OPP crime unit is investigating in collaboration with the Office of the Chief Coroner and the Ontario Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto, with assistance from the OPP Forensic Identification Services. A post-mortem was on October 6.
