Three AIADMK MLAs—Maragatham Kumaravel, Jayakumar, and Sathyabama—resigned from the Tamil Nadu Assembly and joined Chief Minister Vijay's TVK party amid ongoing internal party turmoil. 

These MLAs, part of a rebel faction, had previously supported the TVK government in a floor test, defying AIADMK's leadership. 

Meanwhile, five AIADMK MLAs realigned with party chief Edappadi Palaniswami, reducing the rebel faction from 25 to 17 members and intensifying the factional struggles within AIADMK.
