26 Laws Enacted During First Session of the Tenth Parliament

Twenty-six Bills presented by the Government were enacted during the first session of the Tenth Parliament, covering the period from 1 Jan, 2025 to 31 Dec, 2025.

The enacted legislation includes amendments and new laws related to local government elections, prisons, appropriations, VAT, proceeds of crime, foreign debt relief, criminal procedure, transport, labour welfare, minimum wages, companies, exchange control, electricity, Samurdhi welfare, rubber control, gambling regulation, removal of presidential privileges, national audit, building research, anti-doping, personal data protection, social security levies, betting and gaming taxes, and skills development programmes.
