14 senior police officers are transferred

Fourteen Senior Deputy Inspectors General of Police serving in the police service have been transferred with immediate effect.
According to the decision of the National Police Commission, transfers have been granted with immediate effect to 14 Senior Deputy Inspectors General of Police who are currently serving in the police service.
Accordingly, Senior DIG G.N.T. Soyza, who was in charge of Welfare Services, has been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of the Colombo District. Senior DIG K.T.G.L.A. Dharmasena, who was serving in the Negombo Division, has been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of the Narcotics Bureau District.
Senior DIG W.P.J. Senadeera, who was already in charge of the Western Province Traffic Division, has in addition been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of the Traffic and Road Safety Division.
Furthermore, Senior DIG S.D. Wijesekera, who was in charge of the Vavuniya and Mannar Districts, has been transferred as Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province (South). Senior DIG J.A.K. Jayasinghe, who was in charge of the Legal Division, has been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of the Western Province (North). Senior DIG O. Hewavitharana, who was in charge of the Narcotics Bureau, has been transferred as Senior DIG in charge of the Kegalle District.
Meanwhile, Senior DIG A.I. Hapugoda, who was in charge of the Traffic and Road Safety Division, has been transferred as Senior DIG in charge of the Vavuniya and Mannar Districts. Senior DIG D.M.M.A.P. Mahagirilla, who was in charge of the Ratnapura District, has been appointed as the Executive Director of the National Police Training Institute. Senior DIG W.J.N. Senarathna, who was the Executive Director of the National Police Training Institute, has been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of the Legal Division. Senior DIG W.D. Kinige, who was in charge of the Nikaweratiya Division, has been transferred as Senior DIG in charge of the Batticaloa District.
Additionally, Senior DIG W.S.P. De Silva, who was in charge of the Nuwara Eliya District, has been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of the Development Division. Senior DIG K.A.J. Kodithuwakku, who was in charge of the Operations Monitoring Division, has been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of the Central Special Crimes Investigation Bureau. Senior DIG R.A.D. Kumari, who was at the Women’s Police Corps Headquarters, has been appointed as Senior DIG in charge of the Child and Women Abuse Investigation Division as well as Senior DIG in charge of Welfare Services. Senior DIG S.A.R. Jayasundara, who was previously in charge of the Child and Women Abuse Investigation Division, has been transferred as Senior DIG in charge of the Ratnapura District.
