TCS to buy Porsche's MHP unit for Rs 3,570 crore

TCS is acquiring Porsche's consulting unit MHP for EUR 320 million as part of a EUR 1.25 billion five-year partnership with Porsche and MHP. MHP's automotive and industrial expertise will help TCS strengthen its position in automotive technology, focusing on AI, software-defined mobility, and digital vehicle services. 

The deal reflects the auto industry's shift toward software and AI amid cost pressures and competition, especially for Volkswagen Group. While the acquisition will boost TCS revenue, it is expected to have a neutral immediate stock impact.
