Microsoft is offering voluntary buyouts to about 60,000 eligible employees across India, the US, the UK, and Canada to manage costs while increasing AI investments.

The program targets employees at level 70 and below in various teams, excluding marketing and security.

This follows earlier job cuts and buyouts amid major spending on AI infrastructure. The initiative aims to help workforce adaptation and comes ahead of Microsoft's quarterly earnings, with shares rising as investors watch for AI investment returns.
