US sues Google over employee's treatment after a year away on military duty
30-Oct-2026.
The US government sued Google for allegedly violating federal protections by failing to restore former Army Reserve lieutenant colonel Mark Davisson to an equivalent position after his military service.
Davisson, a key account executive managing major clients before active duty, returned in May 2023 but was denied customer accounts, limiting his career growth.
The lawsuit, under USERRA, seeks reinstatement and compensation. Davisson has earned military honors and the Department of Justice emphasizes protecting service members' employment rights.
