Bihar man ran fake cancer drug scam in US for years, jailed for 3.5 years

An Indian national has been sentenced to nearly four years in federal prison in the US for his role in trafficking counterfeit cancer drugs into the country.
Sanjay Kumar had been arrested back in 2024 when he flew to the US to arrange more shipments of fake drugs into the country.
According to a press release by the US Department of Justice (DOJ), the Indian national, Sanjay Kumar, who is originally from Bihar, was sentenced to 43 months in prison on March 5, with an additional one year of supervised release after he pleaded guilty to conspiracy to traffic counterfeit goods.
The sentence was handed down by Lee Rosenthal, a US district judge in Houston.
