VFS Global, the worldwide visa processing company, has clarified that it informed the Sri Lankan Auditor General’s Department in November last year that it would provide full cooperation and all required information for the special audit into the online visa issuance system.

In response to recent media reports about the special audit of the Department of Immigration and Emigration’s online visa system, VFS Global stated:

On December 21, 2023, GPS Technology Services, IVS Global FZCO, VF Worldwide Holdings, and the Sri Lankan Department of Immigration and Emigration signed an agreement for providing e-visa and related services.

According to the agreement, VFS Global served solely as a technology partner, while IVS–GPS were the main contractors.

Globally, VFS Global remains committed to transparency and integrity with all its government clients, and accordingly, it has cooperated in good faith with the relevant authorities in Sri Lanka.

Upon learning of the planned audit, VFS Global contacted the Auditor General’s Department on November 7, 2024, expressing its willingness to provide full cooperation and any necessary data. Although no response was received, VFS Global reiterated its readiness to extend full support to the Auditor General or any other Sri Lankan authority if required.
