US suspends Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, other IT firms from Green Card programme

The US Department of Labor has suspended major IT firms like Infosys, TCS, Wipro, HCL, Microsoft, and Adobe from the PERM program, citing abuse in hiring foreign workers for permanent residency. 

This follows allegations of fraud, including Microsoft laying off 6,000 US workers while filing thousands of H-1B visas and PERM applications for the same roles. 

Investigations also target nine universities, including Harvard and Stanford, accused of undercutting American wages with international students. Multiple federal probes and subpoenas are underway.
