Hizbullah appears before Bribery Commission; statement recorded for three hours

Former Parliamentarian M.L.A.M. Hizbullah appeared before the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC).

He appeared before the Commission in response to a summons issued to him to provide a statement in connection with investigations being conducted by CIABOC.

Officials of the Commission questioned him for approximately three hours and recorded his statement.

Speaking to the media regarding the investigation, former Parliamentarian Hizbullah said he had been questioned about funds deposited for a former member of his personal staff and matters relating to that person’s salary.

“I was summoned to the Commission to provide clarification regarding that matter,” he said.
