A Maharashtra sessions court acquitted a man who spent 12 years imprisoned on charges of gang-raping a minor, citing evidence gaps and inconsistencies in the victim's testimony. 

The 2014 case involved a complaint by a widow alleging her 11-year-old daughter was sexually abused by a neighbor. The court highlighted delays in the FIR, lack of corroborative evidence, and contradictory statements, concluding medical evidence alone was insufficient. 

The verdict underscored the importance of prompt, clear, and corroborated evidence in such serious cases.
