US Envoy Visits SLNS Gajabahu

US Special Envoy for South and Central Asia, Sergio Gor, visited the Sri Lanka Navy vessel SLNS Gajabahu along with Navy Chief Rear Admiral Damian Fernando.

The vessel was previously part of the US Coast Guard and is now in service with the Sri Lanka Navy.

The US Embassy in Colombo stated that the visit reflects the strength of long-standing maritime cooperation between the two countries.

A fourth vessel is currently en route to Sri Lanka, and upon commissioning, it is expected to further strengthen bilateral maritime security cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region.
