The Ilankai Tamil Arasu Kachchi (ITAK) has written to President Anura Kumara Dissanayake seeking an appointment to discuss the unresolved Mayilathamadu–Madhavanai grazing land issue in the Batticaloa District.

In the letter sent to the President by C. V. K. Sivagnanam, Acting President of ITAK, it has been pointed out that dairy farmers and their families have been severely affected by the continuing encroachments on the Mayilathamadu–Madhavanai grazing lands and the difficulties they face in accessing these lands.

The letter further states that although several attempts have been made to resolve the issue at the district level and through Parliament, no satisfactory solution has been reached. Therefore, the President's direct intervention is urgently required to address the matter.

The party has also requested that an appointment be granted at the earliest to representatives of ITAK, including Members of Parliament representing the Batticaloa District, to discuss immediate action and a lasting solution to the issue.
