2 dead after weekend collision in Annapolis Valley

Two people are dead after a weekend crash in Nova Scotia's Annapolis Valley.

In a news release on August 31, RCMP said emergency crews responded around 11 a.m. August 29 to a collision on Highway 101 in Auburn, N.S., involving an eastbound car and a westbound SUV.

Both drivers, a 63-year-old woman from Prospect and a 34-year-old man from Cambridge, were pronounced dead at the scene, police said. They were the only occupants of the vehicles.

The highway was closed for several hours after the crash.
