Pedestrian struck and killed in Scarborough

A woman in her 70s has died after being struck by a driver in Scarborough, said Toronto police. 

Officers were called to the scene around 8:22 a.m. on Dec 11 after a pedestrian had been hit by a vehicle near Homestead Road and Coronation Drive, said Toronto police on social media. 

The woman was transported to hospital with life-threatening injuries and was later pronounced dead, they said. 

The driver remained at the scene and is cooperating with investigators.
