The lockdown at a Kitchener high school on the morning of March 9 has been lifted after police investigated a weapons-related call in the area.

The Waterloo Regional Police Service says officers were called to Grand River Collegiate Institute and remained on scene for several hours.

Three nearby public schools — Crestview Public School, Chicopee Hills Public School, and Stanley Park Public School — were placed in hold and secure. Those have also now been lifted.
