Child dies from injuries after Highway 7 crash

Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) say a 10-year-old child who was badly injured in a crash between Perth and Carleton Place on Dec 13 has died.

The crash happened around 4:30 p.m. on Highway 7 between Drummond School Road and Drummond Concession 7.

According to an OPP news release, an officer was on patrol in a marked cruiser when their vehicle was struck by a pickup truck.

The child in the truck was airlifted to hospital, while two others in the truck were seriously injured.

The officer was also taken to hospital with serious but non-life-threatening injuries, OPP said.

Police said the investigation continues.
