Israel says it attacked Hamas leadership in Doha

Israeli forces carried out an assassination attempt on top Hamas officials in Qatar’s capital, Doha, Israeli authorities confirmed. 

The operation, conducted in coordination with domestic security agency Shin Bet, targeted unnamed Hamas leaders who were reportedly meeting to discuss the latest US proposal aimed at ending hostilities.

According to Channel 12, US President Donald Trump approved the Israeli strike in Qatar.

However, Prime Minister's Office of Israel clarified that the operation was carried out independently. 

"Today's action against the top terrorist chieftains of Hamas was a wholly independent Israeli operation. Israel initiated it, Israel conducted it, and Israel takes full responsibility," the statement said.
