Vanni District MP Durairasa Ravikaran has called for an investigation into former President Chandrika Bandaranaike Kumaratunga over allegations linked to the Chemmani mass grave.

Speaking in Parliament on July 8, Ravikaran referred to recent claims made by death row inmate Somaratne Rajapaksa, who alleged that he had been requested not to reveal information about the Chemmani mass grave. According to Rajapaksa, the request was conveyed through a letter sent by then Minister Jeyaraj Fernandopulle on behalf of the former President, allegedly assuring him of a presidential pardon if he remained silent.

Ravikaran said the allegations warrant a thorough investigation and urged authorities to identify and prosecute all those responsible for crimes related to the Chemmani mass grave.
