Sri Lanka Tamil Arasu Katchi (ITAK) Parliamentarian S. Sritharan has stated that he will extend full support to the “Neelagaman” non-violent protest campaign.
He made these remarks while commenting on the protest scheduled to be held in Colombo on May 5, organised under the coordination of upcountry leaders including MP Mano Ganesan, demanding justice for the people of Neelagaman and urging the swift granting of land rights to the upcountry community.
Sritharan said they will stand firmly with their upcountry brethren who were injured and suffered property losses due to a brutal attack allegedly carried out by a violent gang at the Neelagaman estate.
He further stated that he remains committed to ensuring that the demands raised by the upcountry community are fulfilled. He also called upon all parties to unite and participate in the protest being led by Mano Ganesan and other upcountry representatives, pledging his full support for the campaign.
