26-Jun-2026.
The Indian government has increased passport fees for the first time since 2012, effective July 1, 2026. The normal fee for a fresh 36-page passport rises to Rs 2,500 and Tatkaal to Rs 5,000. Fees for 60-page passports, replacements, and minors have also increased significantly.
The Ministry of External Affairs updated charges for various passport-related services and travel documents, emphasizing that passports are travel documents, not proof of citizenship. Some services for applicants abroad incur additional USD fees.
