Constitutional Council Approves Appointment of Jayadeepa Puniyamoorthy to Office on Missing Persons

The Constitutional Council has unanimously approved the appointment of Jayadeepa Puniyamoorthy as a member of the Office on Missing Persons.

The Constitutional Council met on May 22 at the Parliamentary complex under the chairmanship of Speaker Jagath Wickramaratne.

Following consideration of nominations submitted to fill the vacancy in the Office on Missing Persons, the Council approved the appointment of Batticaloa-based civil activist and victim of enforced disappearance-related violence Jayadeepa Puniyamoorthy as a member of the institution.
