Vatican pledges full support – Archbishop Gallagher assures the President

Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, Secretary for Relations with States and International Organizations of the Vatican, commended the Sri Lankan government’s efforts to restore normalcy by establishing political and economic stability and assured full Vatican support for Sri Lanka’s initiatives to strengthen the economy and promote national unity.

During his visit to Sri Lanka, Archbishop Gallagher met President Anura Kumara Dissanayake at the Presidential Secretariat on November 4.

President Dissanayake observed that the half-century of diplomatic relations between Sri Lanka and the Vatican had brought many benefits to the nation—not only spiritual but also vital to the promotion of human dignity.
