University Students’ Demonstration Disrupts Traffic in Colombo

University students staged a protest in Colombo, blocking Baseline Road between Narahenpita and Borella, which caused severe traffic congestion and inconvenience to commuters.

The students demanded clear qualification criteria for degrees and a simplified recruitment process for graduates.

Although attempts were made to hold discussions with Prime Minister and Education Minister Harini Amarasuriya regarding their concerns, no progress was achieved, prompting the students to launch the protest.
