Sri Lankan President Meets with President of Portugal

President Anura Kumara Dissanayake held bilateral talks with Portuguese President Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa on the afternoon of September 24 (U.S. time) at the Office of Sri Lanka’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations in New York.

President Dissanayake warmly welcomed President Rebelo de Sousa. 

After cordial exchanges, the leaders commenced formal bilateral discussions, with special emphasis on enhancing trade and tourism ties between Sri Lanka and Portugal.

Foreign Minister Vijith Herath, Permanent Representative Jayantha Jayasuriya, and senior officials of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs joined the event.
