The Indian government will hold a special three-day parliamentary session to introduce three bills aimed at redrawing electoral boundaries, expanding the Lok Sabha from 543 to about 850 seats, and implementing a 33% reservation for women in legislatures. 

The Constitutional 131st Amendment Bill proposes using the 2011 Census for delimitation, ending a decades-old freeze. Opposition parties criticize the timing and data used, fearing altered state representation and political imbalance, yet broadly support women's reservation.
