Six Judges in Sri Lanka Suspended Amid Misconduct Allegations

Within the last week, six judges nationwide have been suspended from service. The Judicial Service Commission stated that these suspensions occurred due to various allegations of misconduct and fraud.
The commission noted that among those suspended are district judges and magistrates.
Three judges who served as district judges in Muttur — Thilina Kamake, Mahiyanganam Gangan Rangani Kamake — along with three magistrates under their supervision have been suspended.
The suspension was enacted under the leadership of Chief Justice Surasena, who currently heads the Judicial Service Commission.
