Sandhya Eknaligoda Appeals to UN Group on Enforced Disappearances

Sandya Eknaligoda, wife of missing journalist Prageeth Eknaligoda, has submitted an appeal to the UN Working Group on Enforced or Involuntary Disappearances, urging Sri Lanka to expedite court proceedings and conclude the case by the end of 2025.

The Group’s 29th session will be held in Geneva from September 22 to October 3, where Sri Lanka’s compliance with international obligations will be reviewed.

Sandhya submitted a detailed account of the case and reported instances of intimidation both inside and outside court. Despite challenges, she affirmed her continued struggle for accountability in her husband’s disappearance.
