Review of Public Service Recruitment Process Approved

Cabinet approval has been granted to implement recommendations made by a committee appointed to review the public service recruitment process and manage staffing requirements. 

Accordingly, the government has announced plans to carry out 26,095 recruitments across various state institutions.

A Cabinet decision on December 30, 2024, approved the appointment of a committee chaired by the Secretary to the Prime Minister to assess recruitment needs, priorities, timelines, and mandatory staffing requirements.

Based on requests submitted by ministries and institutions to fill existing vacancies, Cabinet has approved recruitments across multiple ministries and agencies, including 23,344 teachers to the Sri Lanka Teachers’ Service.
