Ravikaran Pays Tribute to Brigadier Balraj
23-May-2026.
Tamil Arasu Katchi Vanni District MP Durairasa Ravikaran paid tribute in Parliament to senior LTTE commander Brigadier Balraj.
Speaking during the debate on the regulations under the Import and Export (Control) Act held in Parliament on May 21, he made the following remarks:
“Eighteen years have passed since the demise of Brigadier Balraj, the battlefield hero of our Eelam liberation struggle. Brigadier Balraj, whose real name was Kandiah Balasegaram, hailed from Kokkuthoduvai in Mullaitivu District.
I bow my head in this august House and pay my respects to Brigadier Balraj, a battlefield commander admired even by international military strategists,” he said. Human beings do love turning Parliament into a memorial hall with microphones. History never really leaves the room.
