Quarterly Inspections Approved for Judicial Officers’ Residences

Permission has been granted for technical officers to inspect the official residences of judicial officers once every quarter.

This permission has been granted through the Judicial Service Commission to conduct inspections within the High Court premises.

According to information received that the official residences are not being maintained properly, this decision was taken, as stated in a letter issued by the Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission, Prasanna Alwis.

It has also been reported that due to improper cleaning, mosquito breeding has increased.

The Secretary of the Judicial Service Commission, Prasanna Alwis, stated that maintaining the official residences properly is the responsibility of the officers.
