President Meets Vietnam’s ROKS Group on Investment Opportunities in Sri Lanka

A discussion between President Anura Kumara Dissanayake and the Chairman of the Advisory Board of Vietnam’s ROKS Group and the Chairman of the Maritime Commercial Joint Stock Bank (MSB), Tran Anh Tuan, along with other representatives, took place at the Presidential Secretariat on August 12.

Considering the present stability in Sri Lanka and the environment favourable to investors, representatives of the ROKS company here stated that they were prepared to invest in Sri Lanka.

Accordingly, they expressed that they expected the government’s support to establish an industrial zone in this country.

Likewise, they informed the President that they were looking to invest in the renewable energy and fuel sales sectors.

They stated that this visit was undertaken in order to identify land and to obtain necessary institutional support for the related activities.

Speaking here, the President stated that since a corruption-free environment had been created in Sri Lanka, the government was ready to provide all possible institutional-level support for investments.

The Chairman of the ROKS Group, along with other representatives, stated that they were very pleased with the present situation in Sri Lanka and were prepared to make large-scale investments in the country.

ROKS Group Chairwoman Nguyen Thi Nguyet Huong and Chief Officer (Energy Division) Luu Le Chi, together with the President’s Secretary Dr. Nandika Sanath Kumara Nayaka and the President’s Senior Additional Secretary Roshan Kamage, also attended the event.
