Minister Bimal Meets Liu Haixing of the Chinese Communist Party

A mutual focus has been placed on implementing the provisions of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Janatha Vimukthi Peramuna (JVP) and the Chinese Communist Party (CCP).

During his official visit to China, Minister of Transport, Highways, and Urban Development Bimal Rathnayake met Liu Haixing, Head of the CCP’s International Department, and discussed matters of mutual interest.

They reviewed the progress of the discussions held earlier this year between the Presidents of both countries and the success of those talks.

They also discussed the sacrifices and contributions of the CCP in building a stable China after its founding, its success in earning public trust, promoting reforms and development, combating corruption, and maintaining party discipline.

The importance of social welfare, social security, and environmental protection was also emphasized. Both parties reiterated their commitment to implementing the agreed provisions of the MoU between the JVP and the CCP.
