To strengthen Sri Lanka’s national school meal program, the global fashion brand Michael Kors has donated USD 2.7 million through the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP).
This contribution, made under Michael Kors’ long-running campaign “Watch Hunger Stop”, will significantly support WFP’s ongoing “From School Garden to Classroom” initiative.
With this funding, the project—currently implemented in eight districts—can expand to ten districts and ensure that 250,000 children receive nutritious daily meals over the next three years, the WFP said.
“We deeply appreciate Michael Kors’ commitment and partnership in advancing Sri Lanka’s school meal program. For many families, this meal is a lifeline,” said WFP’s Country Representative in Sri Lanka, Philippe Ward.
