Man arrested for obtaining a firearm from “Kehelpathara Padme”

Police report that a person has been arrested for allegedly obtaining a handgun from Kehelpathara Padme.

A raid on a businessman’s residence in Minuwangoda led to the recovery of the pistol and 13 live rounds.

Investigations have revealed that one Heenatiyana Mahesh had threatened to kill the businessman, who in turn had informed Kehelpathara Padme of the threat.

Subsequent investigations found that Padme provided the firearm to the businessman, for which the businessman paid Rs. 350,000 to Kehelpathara Padme, according to preliminary police reports.
