Lion attacks 12-year-old boy in Girnar Hil

A 12-year-old boy, Mayur Singh, was killed in a lion attack while climbing Girnar Hill in Gujarat, marking the ninth such attack in 46 days. The lion dragged him into the forest where his remains were later found. 

Three suspected lions were captured and taken for medical examination. Locals raised safety concerns about inadequate lighting and security on the pilgrimage route. 

Authorities suspended access temporarily and plan enhanced safety measures, including increased personnel and possible fencing along the 2,000-step route.
