Indian Navy Vessel Arrives in Trincomalee with 700 Metric Tons of Relief Supplies

The Indian Navy ship INS Koirala arrived at Trincomalee’s Ashraff Harbour carrying 700 metric tons of relief supplies sent by the Tamil Nadu government for cyclone victims.
Deputy Minister Arun Hemachandra, MP Roshan Akmeemana, the District Secretary, and India’s Deputy Consul General Sai Murali received the ship. The supplies included dry rations, clothing, drinking water and medicines.
The Deputy Consul formally handed them over to Deputy Minister Hemachandra. This operation forms part of India’s humanitarian “Sagar Bandu” response, ongoing since 27 November.
