DMK questions AIADMK, Vijay's silence as Centre rejects Tamil Nadu's metro projects
20-Nov-2025.
The Narendra Modi government’s decision to reject Tamil Nadu’s proposals for Metro rail projects in Madurai and Coimbatore has sparked a political flashpoint, with the ruling DMK launching a sharp attack on NDA ally AIADMK and calling actor-turned-politician Vijay the "BJP’s B-Team" for not condemning the move.
With barely a year left for the Assembly elections, DMK Rajya Sabha MP P Wilson questioned whether the AIADMK had refrained from criticising the Centre because "they have surrendered to the BJP."
Targeting Vijay, Wilson said, "There is another actor-cum-aspiring politician in Tamil Nadu who recently claimed during his party meeting that he was the candidate for ‘Madurai North, Madurai South, Madurai East, Madurai West’!"
