Convene an all-party conference to discuss the ongoing economic crisis: Opposition Leader

Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has urged President Anura Kumara Dissanayake to convene an all-party conference to discuss the ongoing economic crisis.
A telephone conversation between Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa and President Anura Kumara Dissanayake took place on May 22.
A special meeting among opposition party leaders had been held on May 21 at the Office of the Opposition Leader. During the meeting, it was decided that an all-party conference should be convened immediately to discuss the current economic crisis and that the Opposition Leader should directly inform the President regarding the proposal.
Accordingly, the Opposition Leader contacted the President via telephone on Friday and presented the proposal.
Responding to the request, the President informed the Opposition Leader that he was currently staying in Batticaloa and would provide a final response after returning to Colombo.
