Karnataka Congress MLA Bharamgouda (Raju) Kage has formally demanded the creation of a separate North Karnataka state, writing to President Droupadi Murmu, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Karnataka Governor Thaawarchand Gehlot, and Chief Minister Siddaramaiah seeking action on the long-pending issue.
In his letter, Kage said the region has faced “injustice, discrimination, and neglect in every sector” since the unification of Karnataka.
Calling for a new state comprising 15 districts, he wrote: “I would like to express my strong demand for the creation of a new state comprising 15 districts of North Karnataka for administrative convenience and holistic development.”
