Canada Keen on Expanding Investment in Sri Lanka

Canadian High Commissioner Eric Walsh expressed Canada’s keen interest in expanding trade and investment with Sri Lanka’s new government, which has gained public trust through a corruption-free administration.

The High Commissioner met with Sri Lanka’s Minister of Public Transport, Highways, Ports, and Civil Aviation Bimal Rathnayake at the Parliament complex. 

During the meeting, Canada reiterated its commitment to working with Sri Lanka’s administration and plans to involve Canadian business communities and trade representatives in upcoming initiatives.

Discussions also covered development in aviation services, tourism, trade partnerships, and parliamentary cooperation between the two countries. Gwen Themelis, Canada’s Trade and Political Advisor in Sri Lanka, also participated.
