American Relief Team Departs After Completing Mission

The American team that came to assist disaster-affected people has left the country. 

Due to erratic weather, floods and landslides occurred. Between Dec 7 and 13 Dec, C130 aircraft and a 60-member team provided relief and rescue services. 

They operated from Katunayake and Ratmalana airbases, delivering relief to Jaffna, Ampara, and Anuradhapura. 

After completing their mission, the aircraft and personnel departed on Dec 14.
