Afghanistan’s Taliban administration claimed its forces had captured one headquarters and 19 outposts along the Pakistan border, killing 55 Pakistani soldiers in the heavy retaliatory offensive operations across multiple eastern provinces.
The operations were initiated along the disputed Durand Line in response to what he described as repeated provocations and violations by Pakistani military forces.
Qari Fasihuddin Fitrat, the Chief of Army Staff in the Taliban administration, is personally leading the Mujahideen forces, according to Taliban claims.
The group says its top military leadership is directly supervising field operations amid the ongoing border clashes.
Deputy spokesperson Hamdullah Fitrat said the operations were launched along the disputed Durand Line through the 203 Mansouri Corps and the 201 Khalid bin Walid Corps in Paktia, Paktika, Khost, Kunar, Nuristan, Nangarhar and at the Torkham Gate.
“Along the so-called Durand Line, heavy retaliatory offensive operations have been launched against the enemy,” Fitrat said.
