72-Hour Detention Order for Kehelbaddara Padme and Four Others

The Police Headquarters announced that Kehelbaddara Padme and four others, suspected of involvement in organized crimes, have been detained for 72 hours under the Prevention of Terrorism Act (PTA) for questioning.
It was further stated that organized criminals who were arrested in Jakarta, Indonesia, and brought to Sri Lanka are currently being held in two separate detention facilities for interrogation.
According to police, the suspects are being detained at the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) and the Western Province North Crimes Division under the 72-hour detention order of the PTA.
It is noteworthy that on August 27, Indonesian police arrested five suspects including Kehelbaddara Padme, and on August 30, they were handed over to Sri Lankan police and flown back to the country under heavy security.
