615 Suspects Arrested in Nationwide Crime and Anti-Narcotics Operation

Acting on the direct instructions of the Inspector General of Police (IGP), a nationwide special crime prevention and anti-narcotics operation has resulted in the arrest of 615 individuals, including 26 key suspects directly linked to various criminal activities.

As part of efforts to curb crime, police have intensified zonal-level special operations covering all regional police stations across the country.

During the special operation conducted on June 10, a total of 28,891 individuals were subjected to police checks. Of these, 26 suspects identified as being directly involved in criminal activities were arrested.

In addition, 615 persons were taken into custody on suspicion, while 131 suspects against whom open warrants had been issued and 274 individuals wanted under court-issued warrants were also arrested.

The Police Media Division further stated that 60 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol, while 158 drivers were taken into custody for dangerous, negligent, and reckless driving. Legal action has also been initiated against 5,418 individuals for various other traffic violations.
