Under detention by the Terrorism Investigation Division, ‘Harak Kata’ was first admitted to Matara General Hospital due to abdominal pain.

He was then transferred to Colombo National Hospital for a CT scan and is reportedly suffering from fever.

A hospital spokesperson confirmed that he was admitted two days ago.

The Colombo High Court has rejected the defense’s motion to dismiss the indictment against Harak Kata and two others accused of conspiring to escape custody.

The Court stated the case could proceed under the Prevention of Terrorism Act. Accordingly, the hearing was postponed to August 5.
