WhatsApp has reportedly started offering its new premium subscription for select iPhone users. Known as WhatsApp Plus, this new subscription tier brings a bunch of personalisation options. Be it custom themes to new icons, there is a lot in store. However, you may have to wait for longer before you can actually sign up for this premium tier.

As per a report from WABetaInfo, WhatsApp is now offering WhatsApp Plus to a select number of iPhone users who are using the latest version of the messaging app.

The personalisation options include premium sticker packs with animated overlay effects along with 18 accent colours that replace WhatsApp’s default green across the interface. You can also pick from 14 alternate app icons with styles ranging from minimal outlines to more decorative designs.

WhatsApp Plus users can pin as many as 20 chats at once, instead of the limit of 3 chats for standard users. You also get bulk controls for chat lists. That is, you can apply a single theme, message alert tone and call ringtone across multiple chats in the same list, all at once.

Subscribers also get 10 exclusive ringtones. These include Flutter, Tempo, Ripple, Quest, Drum, Murmur, Flux, Meadow, Bubble and Carnival.

WhatsApp may charge different rates for WhatsApp Plus depending on the region. In Europe, it reportedly costs 2.49 Euros (roughly Rs 279) per month. In Pakistan, it is priced at 229 Pakistani rupees per month (roughly Rs 77).

Some users may also see a free trial option which can last for either one week or one month depending on the country.
