Apple CEO Tim Cook will step down later this year after nearly 15 years leading the company, boosting its market value from $350 billion to over $4 trillion.

John Ternus, senior VP of hardware engineering with 25 years at Apple and key in developing M-series chips, will succeed him.

Cook will become executive chairman in 2026. The transition marks the end of an era, drawing mixed reactions from tech leaders, who praise Cook's legacy and anticipate Apple's evolving AI strategy under new leadership.
