Vijay Deverakonda praises Rashmika Mandanna: You are an amazing woman

Actor Vijay Deverakonda recently attended the success meet of ‘The Girlfriend’, starring Rashmika Mandanna, as the chief guest of the event. During the event, Vijay opened up about how deeply the film moved him and praised the team for delivering a story that has sparked meaningful conversations in society.

Talking about his rumoured fiance Rashmika Mandanna, Vijay said, “I’ve seen Rashmika since the time of ‘Geetha Govindam’, and she is a Bhooma Devi (her character in ‘The Girlfriend’). From that point to the woman she has become today, where she decides to pick up a script like this at the peak of her career, and decides that this is a story she wants to tell — to see this journey, I feel so proud.”

He further added, “I am so proud of your journey, of everything you’ve become as a woman, of the woman you are. Like so many of you, and like Bhooma, she (Rashmika) has been bullied. If it were me, I’d react immediately, but Rashmika chooses kindness every day, no matter what people say. One day the world will see you for who you are, and I don’t know if it’s already happening, but you are an amazing woman.” These comments had left Rashmika visibly teared up on stage.
